I’m Michael Greer, a researcher focusing on digital fabrication, motion control, and computational geometry. Current modes of production focus on expansive manufacturing runs to offset tooling costs, all to produce objects that are targeted at a broad audience and may not be a perfect fit for any single person. I’m interested in the ways in which digital fabrication and design automation may allow us to produce personalized products in a cost-effective manner while reducing waste by decreasing batch sizes to single units.
